Ministry of REJOICE
- Adult Learning and Community Engagement
As the only Chinese Christian organization registered with the Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) in Victoria, REJOICE operates Rejoice Community Centre, where we offer pre-accredited training programs for Chinese migrants. Our programs are designed not only to build practical skills but to foster a deeper connection with Australian society, helping migrants overcome isolation. From workshops on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to volunteering opportunities with Parks Victoria, we strive to encourage active participation in civic life as an extension of living out Christian values of stewardship and service. - SameVoice Chinese Radio Ministry
Since 2010, we have operated SameVoice Chinese Radio, broadcasting seven hours a week on community radio stations in Melbourne. Through Mandarin, Cantonese, and English programs, we offer news, community information, and Christian teachings, ensuring Chinese migrants are well-informed and spiritually nourished. Broadcasting both locally and online, SameVoice has become a trusted voice in the community, serving as a bridge between the Chinese migrant experience and life in Australia. - Supporting Online Community Information Platforms
Established by REJOICE in 2004, Sameway Magazine was an essential part of REJOICE’s media ministry. The magazine provides critical information on issues relevant to Chinese migrants, from legal and healthcare advice to stories of community and faith. Sameway is now an independent media operating in Australia but still works closely with REJOICE. REJOICE supports their online platforms—sameway.com.au and blessingcald.com.au—to extend these resources to a broader audience, ensuring that vital information reaches those who need it most. - Christian Bookstore and Evangelical Outreach
Our small bookstore continues to operate as a source for Chinese Bibles, evangelical tools, and Christian literature. Beyond the bookstore, we organize large-scale evangelical programs, such as gospel rallies and music ministries, bringing the message of Christ to the Chinese community in Melbourne. Our most recent event, led by the Eternity Music Ministry, reached thousands of attendees, furthering our mission to spread the gospel. - Digital Literacy for Seniors
In recent years, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, REJOICE has focused on empowering Chinese seniors with digital literacy skills. We have trained over 500 seniors in mastering the use of mobile technologies, enabling them to access vital services and stay connected. This initiative is deeply rooted in our belief in serving the vulnerable and equipping them to live dignified lives in a changing world.
Volunteering and Serving in Faith

At REJOICE, we believe that serving others is a reflection of God’s love. By volunteering, you not only help migrants adjust to life in Australia but also grow in your own spiritual journey. Whether you’re assisting in digital literacy workshops, supporting radio broadcasts, or helping with community projects, your contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of others and glorify God through acts of service.
If you feel called to join us in our mission, we offer several opportunities to serve
- Digital Literacy for Seniors: Volunteers help Chinese senior migrants navigate digital platforms, teaching essential skills like using smartphones, accessing online services, and engaging with social media.
- SameVoice Chinese Broadcasting: Interested in radio? We welcome volunteers to assist in our community radio program, helping to produce and broadcast content that informs and uplifts the Chinese-speaking community.

- Content Creation for Sameway Website: Volunteers contribute to the production of content for our website and magazine, helping with tasks such as translation, website maintenance, and video production. This is a great opportunity for those interested in media and communication.
- Community Projects: REJOICE frequently organizes community outreach activities such as volunteering with Parks Victoria, assisting families with autistic children through circle painting events, and promoting organ and tissue donation awareness. Volunteers play a key role in making these projects successful.
- Evangelical Programs: Help us spread the gospel by assisting with the planning and execution of evangelical events, including gospel rallies and music ministries. Volunteers are vital to reaching the hearts and souls of our community with the message of Christ.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to us at rejoicecomcenter@gmail.com or call 03-98887422. We look forward to serving together in Christ’s love.
Two Key Areas of Strength in Serving the Community
At REJOICE, our ministry is rooted in two foundational pillars that reflect our commitment to both faith and service:
- Empowering Migrants through Media and Information:
REJOICE stands as a beacon of truth and guidance through our media platforms, including establishing the Sameway Magazine and SameVoice Radio. These outlets now provide reliable, culturally relevant information to Chinese migrants, helping them navigate life in Australia. By offering news, community updates, and faith-based content, we foster an informed and connected migrant community, equipping them to engage with society and grow in their faith. - Equipping Migrants with Lifelong Skills:
Our Adult Learning Centre, registered under the Victorian government’s Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) program, is a vital resource for Chinese migrants. Through pre-accredited training, we provide practical skills that not only support integration into Australian society but also enrich the personal and professional lives of our participants. From digital literacy for seniors to job readiness programs, REJOICE empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities, fulfilling our Christian calling to serve others and help them thrive.
These strengths—media outreach and skill development—enable REJOICE to be both a spiritual and practical support system for Chinese migrants, guiding them as they build new lives in Australia while growing in their faith.
Digital Literacy for Seniors
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the digital world has become even more critical in accessing government and community services. However, many non-English-speaking seniors, particularly within the Chinese migrant community, face challenges in navigating this new digital landscape. REJOICE has developed a highly successful Digital Literacy Program for seniors, providing them with essential skills to confidently use mobile technology in their daily lives. Over the past three years, we have trained over 500 Chinese seniors, empowering them to stay connected with services and enhancing their quality of life. Volunteers play a crucial role in these workshops, guiding participants with patience and care. If you wish to serve this vulnerable group and help bridge the digital divide, consider joining our team.
Information for Migrants
Modern technology has revolutionized how we access and process information. At REJOICE, we recognize that Chinese migrants often face challenges in obtaining relevant information from mainstream sources. That’s why we’re committed to providing comprehensive information services, especially through our Information Skills Program. Partnering with Sameway Magazine, we offer daily community news in Chinese, distributed via radio and various online platforms. This program equips migrants with the tools they need to integrate into mainstream Australian society, enhancing their well-being and sense of belonging.
We need dedicated volunteers with basic IT skills to support our digital platforms, whether it’s website management, content translation, or community information production. Volunteers in this area receive hands-on training, learning to serve the community while developing their own technical skills. If you can commit 4-5 hours a week to this vital service, we invite you to join our team in making a meaningful impact.
These two programs highlight REJOICE’s ongoing commitment to serving the needs of Chinese migrants and seniors, helping them thrive in their new community.
